Dennis’ Law

24 September, 2009

There has been much concern that sex offenders, even Dennis Ferguson, actually have to live in a community somewhere. The parliament of New South Wales has temporarily ‘fixed’ this problem with ‘Dennis’ Law’ (Housing Amendment (Registrable Persons) Bill 2009). This will allow registered sex offenders to be relocated from public housing without compensation if public safety is at risk. Only four Green MP’s voted against the Bill.

Ironically, the final report for the inquiry into homelessness and low-cost rental is due to be handed down today.

And by the way Dennis, if that sign your neighbours put on your fence is still there, you probably have an action for continuing trespass to land.
