Labor, Liberal, Labor, Liberal…

23 August, 2009

The former Opposition Leader, Brendan Nelson never voted Liberal in his life and now it seems the current Opposition Leader may have considered joining the Labor Party.

Martin Ferguson has commented:

“It really looks as if he (Mr Turnbull) was shopping around for the best available opportunity for himself, not Australia as a nation nor the Liberal Party.”

“He was basically saying: ‘I’m out there, I’m a gun for hire, if you want me in the Labor Party I’ll say what you want me to say. Alternatively, I can go to the Liberal Party’.”

On the policy (?) front the Nationals will oppose the ETS and the Liberals may change it all if they get in. Solid stuff.

Update. Apparently Malcolm Turnbull took Kim Beazley’s advice when he told him he was a Liberal.

Power is the most important thing. Do you think Peter Garret agrees with all the policies of the labor Party? But he can do more good in than out.
